The Great Storm of 1913 prevented the SS Noronic from leaving Port Arthur, Ontario on schedule. Nigel, who had booked passage on the ship's maiden voyage, was oblivious to this stroke of luck that saved him from an early demise, continued to drown the loss of his beloved Constance in the best scotch his fortune could buy. A few days after the tragedy of "the Great Storm of 1913", Nigel, an unaccustomed sole traveler, boarded the magnificent SS Noronic, "the Queen of the Lakes" , and headed for the bar, not his stateroom. After he ordered another scotch, he saw her - a woman who would alter his fate.
From her expensive black silk gown, Nigel knew that she must be from royalty or at least wealth. Her exotic appearance immediately stirred a passion in Nigel that he thought was cached within Constance?s coffin. Olive skin and dark brown eyes, a stunning opposite to Constance?s porcelain skin and iris-colored eyes, stirred something within Nigel that went far beyond excitement. He felt a hint of danger or was it an alluring seductive temptation where Nigel lost the staid persona and unmasked his alter ego?
Why is this beautiful, unescorted woman sitting in the ship?s bar, drinking anisette at nine o?clock in the morning? Nigel rose, feeling giddy, yet ironically sober and walked to the woman?s table, with the intent of introducing himself to his future wife. <<<<<
