Tears ran down his face, dripping down to mix with blood that poured from his hands. Shivers shot up the spines of the children. Father McSinister turned his head away from the distant black sky and stared down at the children, smiling in a menacing manner. The children screamed in fear and ran off in a chaotic mess, bumping and tripping over each other, tumbling to the ground, and preventing escape.
Father McSinister jumped off the low roof and moved slowly toward the children. His form was no longer a man of the lord, but a soul taken over by the devil. The storm that long ago passed now moved with a rapid speed toward the grotesque scene. Engrossed by darkness the children huddled together, crying and tearing at the earth. Lightning stuck, splitting a near by tree. The children closed their eyes preparing for the end.
All went silent.
The children opened their eyes to find the return of beautiful blue sky. The priest had vanished. No threat remained. Confused and terrified, the children returned to the church. They simply told the bride and the groom that they had been wrong; the priest was not on the roof. The smallest boy, Jacob, began to cry. He pointed to the doors of the church and urged everyone to follow outside. However, they could not move beyond the church doors, as the ground had become water. In that water existed thousands of visible fish, which appeared to be in an army formation. Swimming with the fish was Father McSinister. His human form was now merged with that of aquatic life. The war between man and fish had begun, with Father McSinister in command of the fish army. He was the enemy.
