.....Collaborative fiction

"The Upright Olde-Tyme Posse" began their career in the farm country outside of Scranton in the early 1920s. After touring succesfully with the Later Day Top, the group changed managers (Ziggy Bedlow, the new mangaer is seen in the upper left with arm caressing the shoulder of Nell "Stummer" O'Shannasy- who shortly after this photo, became his wife and mother of 13 healthy boys). The change proved to be a good one and the group went on to fame with hits like "Don't cry on my shoulder Betty Lou, Betty Lou", "My Baby has Fisheyes and I'm Hooked", and the 1932 mega hit "When the Cows Came Home, My Baby Hit the Road ". Fame and fortune lasted until Dede "Stubby" Dunderkopf (seen right) quit the group in an ill-fated attempt to start a film career. Her subsequent stint in Hollywood is the stuff of tragic legend, and her story serves as a cautionary tale for young girls of all eras.
