One hot summer day Cooper, at age 15 was sitting on his porch happily playing his turpentine-jug when he heard a car pull in and saw his Dad running up to him in a frenzy. When he saw Uncle Cooper, his father hurried to explain that Gladys, his Mama had been involved in a freak accident in town and needed surgery to save her life but that he was a little short of the cash. He then left young Cooper to search for funds and went back to the hospital. Cooper searched frantically for any loose change in the furniture but came up short. Eventually his eyes fell upon his turpentine-jug and said to himself "I need the cash more then that jug."
Later he arrived at the hospital with the money, his beloved jug having saved his Mama's life. <<<<<
