The lack of a leg did not, however, hamper Mr Hample. Atfer fleeing the fire, Mr Hample joined a touring vaudeville troupe. Changing his name to "Hample the Maginificent" he created a stage act featuring "the 2 Boys of Leisure". This act included (ironically) pyrotechnics, acrobatics and dance. The act toured throughout the midwest until the advent of "moving pictures", when a talent scout saw the act and signed Mr Hample to a 5 picture deal with Paramount. His films included "Hamster of the Carribean" (1919), Hamsters in Paradise (1922), It's a Hamster's Life (1924), the Maltese Hamster (1925) and Hamlet (1926) for which he won the academy award. <<<<<
