.....Collaborative fiction

Cousin Cyril, who is 18 years old in this picture, was the basis for Oliver character from "The Brady Bunch." He was sent to live with Grandmama and her 15 children two years before she left town. Cyril was an awkward child, who never did quite fit in. His parents were unemployed philosophers (the depression was especially hard on philosophers who could not find work or LSD) who could not afford one extra mouth to feed.

Growing up was cruel to him. Puberty struck early, as it can to children with an addiction to ether. After recovering from the rickets, Cyril hit an amazing growth spurt at age 7, sprouting to an off-the-charts 4-foot-3. Sadly though, that would be his only growth spurt. His childlike appearance was augmented by Grandmama's inability to afford new clothes. He shared clothes with his five-year-old cousin, Burrows.

Cyril moved to The Big City at 19. He amassed a small fortune in saloons and speakeasies, allowing patrons to toss his diminuitive body at the wall of the establishment. While a pioneer in midget tossing, the constant hitting of walls and floors took its toll (Velcro was not invented until 1948). Cyril died in a sanitarium at age 25, both senseless and penniless.
